Will protocol layers make Bitcoin stronger and keep the competition at bay? Only time will tell if any of the myriad alt chains will make the grade and generate the same network effect that has given Bitcoin its unparalleled strength. Unwilling to wait and see, others have chosen to focus their attention on building protocol layers directly on top of Bitcoins solid bedrock in order to help it scale beyond its core, but arguably limited, use as a distributed payment network. On June 5th at Google Campus were pleased to welcome Niki Wiles, Community Relations Manager for Counterparty and Dominik Zynis, Head of Business Development at The Mastercoin Foundation. If you’ve not come across either Counterparty or Mastercoin, you can read more about them here: www.counterparty.co
CoinScrum’s Chris Ellis will be introducing our two guests and the projects they represent. Following a high level summary from each, Chris will drill down and open up the debate so you can hopefully leave with a clearer view as to what their potential may be. Well also be holding our usual regulatory update giving shout-outs to start-ups so send us a message if you’d like to take part.
